Our Interior Painting Process for Remodels

Our detailed painting process ensures a flawless finish for every aspect of your remodeled space. Here’s our step-by-step approach when painting new, smooth walls, ceilings, and trim:

  • Setup & Floor Protection:
We begin by thoroughly protecting any existing flooring to prevent potential damage.
  • Priming Walls & Ceilings:
After securing the floors, we apply a high-grade primer to all walls and ceilings to create a smooth, durable base.
  • Special Primer for Raw Wood:
Any raw wood surfaces, like door and window casings, are treated with an oil-based primer to ensure a lasting, high-quality finish.
  • Overnight Drying Time for Primer:
We allow the primer to dry overnight, optimizing adhesion and preparing surfaces for painting.
  • Trim Prep Work:
    • We fill nail holes on baseboards, door casings, and window casings with either wood filler or lightweight spackle, depending on the material.
    • Once dried, we sand the trim for a smooth finish.
    • We then vacuum dust from the trim and floor, ensuring a dust-free surface.
  • Floor & Trim Protection:
Floors around the baseboards and windows are covered to protect them from paint
  • First Coat of Trim Paint:
Our professional painters spray the first coat on the trim, including window casings, doors, and door frames. We allow it to dry for 1-2 hours. (water-based paint)
  • Ceiling Painting:
Once the trim is complete, we cover the baseboards and trim to begin painting the ceilings.
  • Wall Painting:
With the ceilings done, we move on to the walls. If the walls have an accent color different from the trim, we apply painter’s tape for clean edges.
  • Final Touch-Ups & Hardware Replacement:
After painting is complete, we check for touch-ups, reinstall any removed hardware and switch plates, and ensure everything is in place.
  • Clean-Up:
We perform a final clean-up, leaving your space neat and ready to enjoy.

Note: We use only top-tier paint products, such as Emerald by Sherwin-Williams, DuraPoxy and Acrimax by Miller Paint, and Scuff-X by Benjamin Moore. We do not use Advance paint due to its water consistency and overnight dry time needed for a second coat.

This meticulous process results in a stunning, long-lasting finish for your newly remodeled space.
